Contact Raymond Wells

Born in Denver CO in 1936, Ray was adopted and grew up as an only child. Ray finished 3rd through 12th grades in Richland, WA. While in grade school, Ray read the Bible three times to find out what was required of him to make it into Heaven and avoid Hell*, and he investigated Catholic and numerous Protestant Churches. As an adult, he also investigated EST, Ontology, Eckankar, Saint Germaine, Theosophy, and Scientology. He read the works of J. Goldsmith, Krishnamurti, E. Fox, K. Gibran. He has studied the SEARCH FOR GOD books that came through the famous psychic Edgar Cayce.

Ray and his first wife divorced following a separation, and irreconcilable differences, after 10 years of marriage. This caused Ray to realize he needed better answers than he could find in the resources he had previously investigated.

Ray met his 2nd wife, Marjorie, in 1965 and they recognized common interests in metaphysics and the Truth. They eloped four weeks later. Marjie was a widow with 4 young children that Ray adopted. Marjie bore him two more sons. Ray and Marjie did find the Edgar Cayce readings helpful but did not want to reincarnate 1000 more lives to work out their karma.

Ray and Marjie discovered A COURSE IN MIRACLES (ACIM) in 1985 and concluded that it had all the answers they were looking for, completely explained why the world is so imperfect, and ACIM gave them assurance that something better awaited all of humanity. They were pleased to find ACIM is not a church and not a religion. Their 55th wedding anniversary was in 2020. Application of A COURSE IN MIRACLES by both of them has helped them make it through their first 54 years.

Since becoming ACIM Students, Ray and Marjie have attended 5 of Dr. Ken Wapnick’s seminars (3 in Roscoe NY, and 2 in Temecula CA). They have also attended many ACIM study groups, and Ray has led several ACIM study groups. They believe that Ken Wapnick’s ACIM explanations are accurate. Ray was relieved to find out that Hell* is not a physical place that anyone may be sent to. Ray encourages everyone to follow ACIM’s instructions on how to discern the Holy Spirit’s Voice from the ego’s voice.

A few of Ray’s forgiveness opportunities: An overly strict father. His mother had severe health problems and was unhappy with her life. A severe football knee injury at age 16 prevented him from focusing on sports, his first love. His first wife moved to another state after receiving custody of their 3 children. In 2003 he survived a heart attack and underwent heart surgery. In 2008 his and Marjie’s youngest son took his own life at age 37, after a long bout with mental illness. In 1993 Ray and Marjie founded and managed a medical transcription business, and eventually employed a workforce of 34 employees. In 2012, due to overseas competition, Ray and Marjie were forced to close their medical transcription business, and then they retired.

Ray has a BSEE and has been a technical writer, editor, technical trainer, product manager, and applications engineering manager during his career. Ray enjoys public speaking.

Years ago, Ray transferred all of his handwritten Course notes to an eXcel spreadsheet, and that enabled him to see the Course’s big picture. It amazed him at how well-written, comprehensive, and cohesive the Course is; every chapter and every lesson presents a recognizable theme. He saw that the Course answers the three basic questions about our existence:

Where did I come from? What am I doing here? Where am I going?

Ray and his wife are both private pilots and are members of the UFO (United Flying Octogenarians), and until recently were active down-hill skiers, having skied the Rockies, the Cascades, Snowy Mt. Range, and Jackson Hole in Wyoming.
